As easy and helpful as it can be using a smartphone in this day and age, one aspect that can cause quite an inconvenience is photography.
Sure you can snap photos anytime you'd like (even panoramic ones), edit them, share them on social media sites, or even send in secret messages that disappear instantly. However, what happened to the days of picture frames and photo albums?
Using smartphones for all of our photo capturing needs can eliminate the good old-fashioned photo albums.
It wasn't too long ago that LG introduced us to the Pocket Photo Printer to solve this problem. What good are all of the photos if you can't keep them forever?
Now, the company has released a new and improved version of the printer that can print your photos from your smartphone or tablet anywhere.
The Pocket Photo 2.0, unveiled at CES 2014 this week, offers wireless connectivity via Bluetooth. It's 4 mm thinner than the previous version and is now considered one of the smallest mobile printers out there.
The printing device works with Android and iOS devices and prints 2 x 3-inch pictures from anywhere. It can also deliver up to 30 prints per charge. The photos are printed at 313 dpi so they aren't too fuzzy for showing off.
How it works
To get started, all you have to do is download the free Pocket Photo editing app. Once you've established your wireless connection, you can begin printing immediately.
Bonus
Pocket Photo 2.0 isn't a typical printer. The device uses ZINK technology, which eliminates the need for expensive ink cartridges and ribbons. Instead, it employs heat to activate the necessary color-forming chemistry in each sheet of printing paper so images are preserved longer and won't suffer from smearing.
As if printing from your phone wasn't cool enough, Pocket Photo 2.0 allows you to experiment with new filters and frames, embed QR codes in each photo, and edit and print from anywhere.
The device is currently on the market in China and will roll out to the rest of the world this year.
Happy printing.
