Covering 10 MHz to 20 GHz in 0.001-Hz steps, the MG37020A microwave signal generator uses an advanced VCO-based hardware architecture to achieve a switching speed of 100 µs per point. The instrument features 23-dBm output power at 20 GHz and typical phase noise of −101 dBc at 10-kHz offset from 10 GHz.

Options address specific testing requirements: the pulse-modulation option includes pulse-burst capability that permits dynamic-frequency-selection (DFS) testing and eliminates the need for external pulse generators, while the ultrastable phase-track option lets users interconnect up to four generators.
