1.5-A LED camera flash driver offers 88% efficiency
The AAT1274 is a high efficiency, 1.5 A high-current boost converter for LED photo flash applications. It maintains output current regulation by switching the internal high-side and low-side switch transistors, pulse-width modulated at a fixed frequency of 2 MHz. The high switching frequency allows the use of a small external inductor and output capacitor, making it ideally suited in all single cell, Li-ion-powered applications.
The company’s AS2Cwire (Advanced Simple Serial Control) digital interface is used to enable, disable, configure and program the operation of the device. Specs include an input voltage from 2.7 to 5.5 V, up to 1.5-A regulated output current, up to 88% efficiency, 2-MHz switching frequency.
The AAT1274 also features a separate Flash Enable input, and over-voltage, short circuit, and over-temperature protection. Housed in a TDFN33-14 package, the part operates over –40° to 85°C. (Contact company for pricing and availability)
