The LTM8047 and LTM8048 1.5-W output dc/dc µModule converters feature 725–Vdc galvanic isolation. All components, including the transformer, control circuitry, and power switches, are housed in a in a 9 x 11.25 x 4.92–mm BGA package. They break ground loops in applications such as industrial, avionics, and instrumentation equipment.

The dc/dc converters operate from an input voltage of 3.1 to 32 V, delivering a regulated output voltage on the secondary side, adjustable from 2.5 to 12 V (LTM8047) and 1.2 to 12 V (LTM8048). The LTM8048 includes a low-noise linear post regulator that reduces the output ripple noise to 20 µVrms at 300 mA. The LTM8048’s isolated post regulator delivers an output voltage accuracy of 2.5%. Both devices include overcurrent protection and adjustable soft start, and are available in temperature ranges from –40° to 125°C or from –55° to 125°C.
