1.8-in. 250-Gbyte HDD has native USB I/O

The N3U 1.8-in. hard-disk drive features 250-Gbyte capacity and a native USB interface for external storage applications. It yields a 40% reduction in power use over a 2.5-in. drive of equivalent capacity.

The drive’s native USB avoids the addition of a bridge circuit board to convert a PATA interface into USB. The drive handles a free-fall drop of up to 50 cm and a maximum shock incident of up to 1,500 g’s. ($199 — available now.)
