The eighth-brick Barracuda series 300W dc/dc isolated power modules that measure the 58.4 x 22.8 x 11.3-mm are regulated digital bus converters. They are drop-in replacements for unregulated and semi-regulated bus converters challenged by recent industry-wide intellectual property issues. The converters suit existing computing, networking, data storage, and mobile Internet infrastructure product designs, powering an array of POL converters.
The dc/dc converters are designed for intermediate bus architectures. The EBDW (digital) and EBVW (analog) 25–A Barracuda series modules offer a 36 to 75–Vdc input-voltage range with a 95% efficiency rating. The digital version incorporates digital communication, synchronization features, load sharing, differential remote sense, and output-voltage trim. The analog series is compatible with the DOSA standard five-pin bus converter pin out. Protection features include overtemperature, output overcurrent and overvoltage combined with built-in filtering for both input and output voltage. (From $41 ea/OEM qty — available now.)
