Having efficiencies up to 95%, 1-A models are now part of the V78XX-1000 dc series switching regulators. They are pin compatible with the company’s 78xx linear regulators and require no heat sink because of their high efficiency.
The series offers wide input ranges from 4.75 to 32 Vdc and output voltages from 3.3 to 12 Vdc. The switching regulators are non-isolated and feature built-in short circuit protection and thermal shutdown. Measuring 0.69 x 0.45 x 0.35 in., the regulators have an operating temperature range from 40 to 85°C. ($5.76 ea/1,000 available now.)
