1-GS/s PCIe digitizer has fast throughput

Based on the 8-lane PCI Express bus, the ATS9870 8-bit waveform digitizer offers two analog input channels, each able to sample simultaneously at rates to 1 Gsample/s while providing SNR >40 dB and sustained data throughput to PC memory at rates to 1.4 Gbytes/s. The unit occupies only one half-length PCIe x8 or x16 slot.

Each channel can have a 256-Mbyte, 2-Gbyte, or 4-Gbyte dual-port acquisition memory, which allows data transfer without stopping acquisition. Optionally available are an SDK, Labview VI, and Linux driver source code. (Digitizer, from $4,995; SDK or VI, $325; Linux driver, $1,195 — available May.)
