10- and 12-bit ADCs achieve industry’s lowest power

10- and 12-bit ADCs achieve industry’s lowest power

Converters use proprietary pipeline architecture to offer best power/performance ratio

Including single- and dual-channel models that operate at 20, 40, 65, and 80 Msamples/s, the 12-bit CDK2307 and 10-bit CDK2308 A/D converters are claimed to offer the lowest total power dissipation in the market today. At 102 mW, the dual-channel CDK2307D provides 13-bit performance at an 80-Msample/s sampling rate while consuming over four times less power than the closest competitor in its class. This unique power/performance combination is due to the company’s pipeline architecture making these converters well suited for portable ultrasound equipment, portable oscilloscopes, and a wide variety of applications in the medical, instrumentation, and communication markets.

10- and 12-bit ADCs achieve industry’s lowest power

The CDK2307D offers a 72.4-dB SNR and 78.2-dB SFDR. The ADC family also consists of the 12/13-bit CDK1307 and 10-bit CDK1308 single-channel, 20/40/65/80-Msample/s parts, with power dissipation from 19 to 60 mW and 15 to 46 mW, respectively. The family also consists of the 12/13-bit CDK2307 and 10-bit CDK2308 dual-channel, 20/40/65/80-Msample/s ADCs, with power dissipation from 30 to 102 mW and 24 to 78 mW, respectively. (Ea/1,000: CDK2307, from $11.30 to $25.60; CDK2308 from $4.80 to $11.60 available now.)
