So if you haven’t heard, Apple is releasing the iPhone 5S on September 20. The new iPhone has a few features Apple is bragging about like its 64-bit architecture, its thin, lightweight design, and its iSight camera, but probably the most talked-about feature it has is Touch ID. Touch ID is a new fingerprint identity sensor.

Here are some fun facts about the new fingerprint scanning technology that will be on your iPhone 5S.
1. You can’t cut off someone’s finger and use it to unlock his or her phone.
The scanner uses RF capacitive sensor technology that scans beneath your topical layer of skin. It only detects the layers of skin that are present when someone’s finger is alive- and actually attached to the body.
2. The scanner doesn’t like it when you sweat.
3. The scanner doesn’t like fingers with scars
So, use another finger.
4. No more swiping will be necessary, just press your finger on the home button.
5. Your finger will transform into your credit card
Users can purchase items in Apple-owned digital stores by just touching a finger to the home button.

Anyone you trust can have a registered fingerprint on your phone and therefore be able to access your phone.
7. No more PIN required,
Just a fingerprint, but you will need to create a back-up password in case your phone gets re-booted
8. Your phone must be trained
In order to successfully use the fingerprint scanning capabilities, you will have to scan your fingerprint from several angles.
9. The fingerprints are stored on the phone itself, not any external server.
10. There’s a Tokyo man who has been on line for the iPhone 5S since September 10th (10 days before its release).
