10-GbE controllers provide up to four ports

The BCM57800/57810/57840 dual- or quad-port 10-GbE controllers are among the first in the industry supporting the PCI Express 3.0 specification. The family includes baseline server features such as wake-on-LAN, remote boot (PXE), and NC-SI server management, and it also supports Energy Saving Ethernet (EEE).

The ICs support Virtualization via SR-IOV, NIC partitioning, and virtual embedded bridge. No external memory is needed. The BCM57800 provides dual-port 10-GbE and dual-port 1-GbE connections, while the other two devices yield two or four 10-GbE ports.
