The Model 648 electromagnet power supply is a fault-tolerant 10-kW supply optimized for powering large 7- or 10-in. research electromagnets. It suits electromagnet characterization systems used for magneto-optical studies, magnetic hysteresis tests, susceptibility measurements, Hall Effect studies, spin magnetic resonance demonstrations, and biological tests.
The power supply is used with large electromagnets in high precision laboratory settings that require low electrical noise, enabling high resolution and fine detail. The supply eliminates the need for external switching or operator intervention to reverse current polarity. It supplies ±135 A / ±75 V to a nominal 0.5–W, 0.57–H load. The output can be modulated from an external source up to 0.17 Hz at ±135 A.
