Integra Optics, an Infinite Electronics brand, has launched a 10G SFP+ transceiver that is capable of reaching 120 kilometers (74 miles). The transceiver is designed to deliver seamless connectivity over long distances, supporting data rates of 10 Gbits/s over single-mode fiber (SMF).
Designed for performance and reliability in Metro Ethernet transport and access networks, the transceiver eliminates the need for costly and complex amplification, the company said.
“By eliminating the need for amplification, we can offer a more cost-effective and simplified solution for long-distance network connections, without compromising on performance or reliability,” said Diana Nottingham, senior engineering manager, Integra Optics, in a statement.
The SFP+ transceiver meets existing industry standard SFP multi-source agreements (MSA) for broad compatibility with equipment. It is available with coding for compatibility with several platforms, ensuring seamless integration into existing networks for ease of deployment.
The transceiver operates efficiently over a commercial temperature range of 0 to 70°C (32 to 158°F), making it suitable for a variety of applications.
The SFP+ transceiver family is available in a variety of power budgets and data rate options. They offer MMF and SMF with duplex LC connector interfaces. Applications include Metro Ethernet, data center and enterprise networks; multi-rate Fibre Channel and CPRI; OTN and other optical links; and Sonet/SDH.
The 10G SFP+ 120-km transceiver is available now.
