An 11.3-Gbit/s chipset composed of seven devices targets SONET/SDH, Ethernet, Fibre Channel, and Fiber-to-the-Premise applications. The seven device are the M02129 multirate limiting transimpedance amplifier, the low-distortion M02130 linear TIA, the M02142 linear and M02143 limiting post amplifiers with digital controls, a M02170 directly modulated laser driver, the M02171 vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser driver with optical modulation control, and the M02172 electro-absorption modulator driver.
The M02129 TIA supports data rates of 1.25 s and 10.3 Gbits/s and has OMA sensitivity of –21 dBm at 1.25 Gbits and –17.5dbm at 10.3 Gbits. The M02130 linear TIA features 4% max. THD over -17 dBm to 1 dBm OMA. The M02142 features 5-mV input sensitivity, while the M02143 is a differential gain amplifier for linear systems with 3.3-mV sensitivity at 11.3 Gbits/s.
