12- and 14-bit ADCs target WiMAX apps

Targeted at demanding WiMAX and 3G wireless communications applications, the 12-bit 170-Msample/s ADC12C170/ADC12V170 and 14-bit 155-Msample ADC14V155 A/D converters offer a full power bandwidth of 1.1 GHz. The ADC12C170 with parallel CMOS outputs and ADC12V170 with dual-data-rate parallel LVDS outputs offer the an SFDR above 250-MHz input frequencies.

The ADC14V155 offers an SFDR of 85 dB and SNR of 69.5 dB at an input frequency of 238 MHz. Operating from a 3.3-V supply, the ADC12C170 typically consumes 715 mW, the ADC12V170 consumes 781 mW, and the ADC14V155 consumes 951 mW.
