12-bit SAR ADCs offer small size, low power

Housed in a tiny DFN-10 package, the LTC2302 and LTC2306, pin- and software-compatible one-/two-channel 12-bit A/D converters, communicate via an SPI-compatible serial interface at output rates up to 500 ksamples/s. Features include 73-dB SINAD at 10 kHz, a 5-V supply voltage, and a power dissipation of 15 mW at 500 ksamples/s and 35 μW in sleep mode.

The LTC2302 measures a single differential input channel, suitable for measuring bridge sensors, while the LTC2306 includes an internal multiplexer and measures two single-ended or one differential input channel. A separate digital output supply voltage allows users to configure the serial data output for 3- or 5-V logic. (From $2.10 ea/1,000available now.)
