150-mA, 16-V regulators feature 70-dB PSRR

The MCP1754 and MCP1754S low dropout regulators feature a 70−dB PSRR at 1 kHz (typical), and a maximum output current of 150 mA at a 125°C junction temperature. Both LDOs offer an input voltage of 16 V and a 1.8 to 5.5−V output voltage range with standard output voltages of 2, 2.5, 2.8, 3, 3.3, 4, and 5 V, and output voltage tolerances of ±2.0% over the entire temperature range.

The MCP1754 provides enhanced features, such as a shutdown input signal and a power-good output signal, while the MCP1754S is the baseline version of the device. These LDOs suit electronic circuits, such as in GFCI and AFCI circuit-breaker designs, and for automotive power adapters, cell phones, and medical devices. They are available in 5-pin SOT-23, 3-lead SOT-23a and 3-lead SOT-89 packages. (Ea/10,000: 5-pin SOT-23, 3-lead SOT-23a and 3-lead SOT-89, $0.42; SOT-223, 3-lead SOT-223, 8-lead 2 x 3-mm DFN packages, $0.47 — available now.)
