16-Bit D/A yields 74 dBc SFDR at 2.5 Gs/s

The LTC2000CY-16 16-bit 2.5 Gs/s current steering D/A converter features exceptional spectral purity with 74 dBc spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) at 200 MHz output, and better than 68 dBc for output frequencies from DC to 1 GHz. The IC has -147 db phase noise at a 10 KHz offset and a wide 2.1 GHz -3dB output bandwidth.

The chip has a parallel LVDS input. Differential nonlinearity is ±2.7 LSB maximum, and integral nonlinearity ±4 LSB maximum, over the full operating range. Operating from 1.8 V and 3.3 V supplies, the LTC2000 consumes 2.2 W at 2.5 Gs/s and 1.3 W at 1.25 Gs/s. It comes in a 9 x 15 mm BGA170 package in commercial or industrial temperature ranges. It costs $83.79 ea/100 and lower priced 14- and 11-bit versions are available.
