16-bit dual ADC uses half the power of competing parts
The AD9650 A/D converter consumes 328 mW per channel, which according to the company is half the power per channel of competing data converters while achieving an industry-best SNR figure of 82 dBFS and SFDR performance of 90 dBc with a 30-MHz input. The part is designed for high-performance data acquisition systems in medical imaging, industrial, spectrum analysis, multimode radio, and radar applications.
Features include an on-chip dither option, an analog input range of 2.7 Vp-p, and IF sampling frequencies to 300 MHz. The AD9650 is also available in speed-grade options of 80, 65, and 25 Msamples/s. Housed in a 64-lead LFCSP package, the AD9650 operates from a single 1.8-V supply and a separate digital output driver supply, accommodating 1.8-V CMOS or LVDS outputs. (Ea/1,000: 105-Msample/s version, $122.50, 25-Msample/s version,$52.50 — samples available now.)
