16-bit MCU family has background data xfer

The R8C/Lxxx series of 16-bit MCUs has 112 versions and features a data transfer controller (DTC) to manage moves from memory to memory or peripherals without CPU intervention. They also have a data flash memory with a background operation (BGO) function and some versions feature an LCD controller for displays of up to 416 pixels with a dedicated RAM for image data.

The chips have up to 128 Kbytes of flash, 4 Kbytes of data flash, and 10 Kbytes of RAM. They have an 8- or 10- bit A/D converter, operate at 5 to 20 MHz from a 1.8 to 5.5 V supply over the -20° to 85° C temperature range, and come in 52, 64, 80, and 100 pin QFP/LQFP packages.
