The R5F212 family of 16-bit low-pin-count MCUs incorporates 30 versions with specialized features for electronic ballast, handheld power tools, and motor-control applications. The flexible 20- and 32-pin-packaged ICs operate at up to 20 MHz and come with 2, 4, 8, or 16 Kbytes of flash and up to 1.5 Kbytes of RAM.
Some versions provide timer functions that are ideal for motor control along with input-capture/output-compare functions and three-channel 16-bit timer modules with advanced waveform generation capabilities. Other versions have a LIN interface plus 8-bit two-channel D/A and 10-bit 12-channel A/D converters. ($1.20 to $2.60 ea/sample qty—samples available now.)
