The VSC3316 16-port asynchronous crosspoint switch with enhanced signal equalization capabilities is intended for transmitting multi-gigabit data over PCBs, backplanes, connectors, or copper cabling. Each of the chip’s lanes operates independently from dc up to 11.5 Gbits/s.
The 15 x 15-mm PBGA196-packaged IC operates on a single 2.5-V supply using only 200 mW per-channel typ. The device features a fully nonblocking and multicasting switch core, multiple time constant equalization, and up to 9 dB of preemphasis. ($65 ea/volume qty — samples available now.)
