2.5-in. HDD provides speedy 250 Gbytes

The Momentus 5400.4 hard-disk drive uses perpendicular magnetic recording technology to deliver 250-Gbyte capacity in a 2.5-in. format and provides a speedy Serial ATA 3.0-Gbit/s interface. The unit has an 8-Mbyte cache, 5,400-rpm rotation, and an areal density of 204 Gbits/in.2

Operating power is a low 1.54 W write/1.45 W read. The drive features 0.6-W idle and 0.2-W standby power, a 350-G operating shock rating, and a 5-year warranty. ($165—available now.)
