The Spinpoint MT2 1 terabyte 2.5 inch internal mobile hard disk drive suits high capacity portable storage solutions, digital TVs, home media systems, and set-top boxes, where quiet and cool operation is important.

The 5400 rpm drive has a 12.5 mm height, an 8 Mbyte buffer memory, a SATA 3.0 Gbit/s interface and Native Command Queuing. The drive is said to have 20% increased read/write performance and 4% lower power consumption compared with competitive drives, and it features shock resistance levels of 400 G (2 ms) in operation.
