Nexperia has added three new TrEOS protection devices that suppress electrostatic discharge (ESD) in USB 3.2, HDMI 2.1, and other high-speed data lines. The new PUSB3BB2DF, PESD5V0C2BDF, PESD4V0Z2BCDF ESD protection devices also provide high RF performance with very low clamping and very high surge capability.
The new devices combine two TrEOS protection diodes in one miniature DFN0603-3 package, offering a space savings as well as increased reliability. Providing two protection devices in a single package enables a differential line pair to be protected with no additional space requirement while supporting very good signal integrity on differential data lines, said the company.
The DFN0603-3 device family supports very high-speed data rates, offering a maximum pass-band of above 18 GHz, which the company claims is 50% higher than competing parts. Devices also feature very high surge robustness of up to 11 A 8/20 µs.
The TrEOS ESD protection device family offers low clamping and trigger for enhanced system protection down to 0.1 Ω (Rdyn) and protects against ESD up to 30 kV and surge up to 20 A at 8/20 μs. These devices also offer low capacitance for high signal integrity down to 0.1 pF. They are suitable for up to 20 Gbits/s per line pair and offer fast switching time of less than 1 ns. The devices exceed IEC 61000-4-2 level 4, offering IEC 61000-4-5 grade robustness.
The 2-in-1 TrEOS ESD protection devices are available now. Datasheets are available here.
