20-GHz scopes minimize noise for better serial data analysis

Availability of industry leading performance on four channels simultaneouslylets users deliver multilane designs that meet tight specs

The DPO70000B and DSA70000B — the B-series models of the DPO digital-phosphor and DSA digital serial analyzer oscilloscope family — leverage the family’s low jitter noise floor and 20-GHz max bandwidth (the highest available on the market today) by adding the best vertical noise performance, flattest frequency response, and greatest effective number of bits. Consisting of 4, 6, 8, 12.5, 16, and 20-GHz models, the series lets designers not only create devices that meet tight performance specs and cut false rejects due to loose measurement margins, but also buy the bandwidth they need now and upgrade their unit when design dictates.

The B series also provides hardware-based pattern triggering rates up to 5 Gbit/s: the fastest available. The scopes’ high sample rate (50 Gsample/s) and capture rate (>300,000 waveforms/s) on four channels simultaneously allow debug of multilane-system signals to 12 Gbit/s.

Software packages for serial-data-design debug and compliance verification include DPOJET (for jitter and timing analysis), Serial Data Link Analysis (for testing transmitter, interconnects, and receivers), and standard-specific packages (for DDR, DisplayPort, PCI-Express, USB, HDMI, SATA, Ethernet, Fibre Channel, and others). Optional TriMode Probes ensure end-to-end signal integrity by providing full-bandwidth performance from the probe tip to scope. (From $53,300 — available now.)
