The LQA200 series of 200-V silicon diodes are based on merged-PIN technology that offers “soft” switching and 22-nC typ reverse-recovery charge (Qrr ) at 25°C. They enable high-frequency operation and permit the use of small, inexpensive magnetic components while maximizing operational efficiency.
The diodes are available from 10 to 40 A in common-cathode configuration. They help reduce peak reverse voltage, increases voltage margin and enhances operational reliability. The need for snubber capacitors is also reduced or even eliminated. When compared with equivalent Schottky products, the diodes reduce Qrr by up to 80%, and have a 45% lower junction capacitance. It is available now in DPAK, D2PAK and TO-220 packages, ranging from $0.40 to $1.20 each in 10k quantities.
