24-bit, 3-ch ECG AFE cuts power consumption by 85%

The 24-bit, 3-ch analog-front-end (AFE) consumes only 300 µW/ch which is claimed by the company to be 85% less than alternative integrated solutions. This part includes all features commonly required in portable, low-power medical, sports and fitness electrocardiogram (ECG) applications.

Additional features include an input-referred noise of 7 μVpp (40 Hz BW), an input bias current of 175 pA, and a data rate of up to 25.6 ksamples/s. The analog supply voltage range is from 2.7 to 5.5 V while the digital I/O supply voltage range is from 1.65 to 3.6 V.

Operating from a –20° to 85°C temperature range, the AFE is housed in a 5 x 5-mm QFN package. ($5.50 ea/1,000; ADS1293EVM,$99 — available now)
