24-bit ADC is cascadable to 32 channels

Suitable for industrial power monitoring/protection and medical applications, the MAX11040 A/D converter is a four-channel 24-bit simultaneous-sampling device. The part achieves simplicity using a unique, cascadable SPI interface to eliminate the individual chip-select inputs needed to address up to eight ADCs thus enabling up to 32 channels through one chip-select input.

The ADC provides compensation for phase shifts caused by resistor dividers, transformers, or filters at the analog inputs through a programmable delay of 0 to 333 µs. Housed in a 38-pin TSSOP package, the part also offers a minimum of 90 dB of SINAD and 91 dB SFDR. Also, overvoltage protection on the analog inputs protects the MAX11040 from voltages as large as ±6 V when referenced to the device’s analog ground. (From $13.45 ea/1,000 — available now.)
