240/480 Gbyte SSD uses 3rd gen controller

The SSD-730 series solid state disk drive features SATA 6Gb/s, a 3rd generation Intel controller, and 20 nm NAND flash. It claims 20% faster NAND bus speed with 50 μs read latency and 89,000 IOPs random reads.

The SSD has 240 or 480 Gbyte capacity and will yield sequential read/write speeds up to 550 /270 Mbytes/s. Two 730 drives in a RAID-0 configuration can provide throughput exceeding 1000 Mbytes/s when coupled with Intel Rapid Storage Technology. The drive comes in a 7 mm thick 2.5 inch case and supports up to 70 Gbytes of writes/day for five years. It takes only 4.2 or 6.4 W maximum and the 240 Gbyte version is $270.
