240-Gbyte SSD comes in mSATA form factor

The SSD 525 series solid-state drive comes in a small mSATA form factor and features a 6-Gbit/s interface. The package takes one-eighth the space of a 2.5-in. HDD and the drive comes with 30 to 240-Gbyte capacity.

Measuring 3.7 x 50.8 x 29.85 mm and weighing 10 g, the drive delivers the performance of the SSD 520 Series client drive. Random read/write performance is up to 50,000/80,000 IOPS and sequential read/write performance up to 550/520 Mbytes/s. It requires 300 mW active and 250 mW idle power (typ) and has 128-bit AES encryption with a MTBF of 1,200,000 hours. (MSRP $54 to $279& #8212; some sizes available now.)
