3-D CAD tool is enhanced

The SolidWorks 2008 3-D CAD software delivers a time-saving user interface (UI) as well as impressive 3-D graphics. The software builds on the company’s SolidWorks Intelligent Feature Technology (SWIFT) and includes more than 250 user-requested enhancements.

The SWIFT Instant3D lets users create and modify 3-D model features by manipulating drag handles directly on the model, and the SWIFT DimXpert automatically sets geometric dimensions and tolerances on parts. The Design Clipart capability lets users search their file systems for sketches, tables, images, features, views, or DWG blocks that are inside existing designs.
