3-dB couplers cut insertion loss

The Anaren Xinger-III 3-dB SMT RF hybrid and directional couplers are aimed at wireless infrastructure applications. The hybrid couplers are said to offer 52% to 66% lower insertion loss, five times the power handling, 25% to 28% higher isolation, 63% to 71% better amplitude balance, and equal phase balance. Directional couplers are one-fourth the size of existing Xinger-II couplers, have 37% to 64% lower insertion loss, 50% higher power handling, and equal directivity.
