3,000-W power supply targets medical and industrial apps

Artesyn is offering premium functionality at prices that compete with more basic power supplies available in the market

Meeting medical and industrial safety approvals, the LCM3000 series of AC/DC single-output enclosed power supplies from Artesyn Embedded Technologies can supply up to 3,000 W of output power. Designed to be a cost-effective forced-air bulk front-end power supply, the LCM3000 series offers configurable nominal outputs of 12 V, 24 V, 36 V, or 48 V with output adjustability of ±25% and a maximum current of 250 A. A standard 5-V/2-A housekeeping output enables OEM standby functions even when the equipment is nominally off.

With standard features including power factor correction, variable-speed smart fans, digital control, a five-year warranty, and a typical efficiency of greater than 90%, Artesyn is offering premium functionality at prices that compete with more basic power supplies available in the market. Cost per watt for the new series can be as low as $0.09/€0.08 in production volumes. The LCM 3000 series measures 11 × 7.0 × 2.5 inches (approximately 280 × 177.8 × 63.5 mm) and offers power density of 15.7 W/in3 .
