The X25-E 2.5-in. form factor SATA solid-state drives are aimed intense computing workloads in server and workstation applications, and feature 50-nm single-level cell NAND flash technology. The 32- or 64-Gbyte units achieve up to 250 Mbytes/s sequential read and 170 Mbytes/s sequential write speeds, with 75-µs read latency.
The drives take only 2.4 W typ active and 0.06 W typ idle, and operate over 0° to 70°C. They use a 1.5/3.0-Gbit/s SATA 2.6 interface and provide 35,000 IOPS (4-Kbyte random read) and 3,300 IOPS (4-Kbyte random write). (32 Gbyte, $695 — available now; 64 Gbyte — samples 4th qtr.)
