The SH72531 32-bit microcontroller operates at 120 MHz and has 1.25 Mbytes of flash. It targets fine-grained control of automotive engines and transmissions — yielding smooth performance, high efficiency, and low emissions.
The chip achieves 240-MIPS performance and uses less power than its predecessor; just 350 mW at 3.3/5 V. It comes in a 176-pin 24 x 24-mm LQFP package and has a multifunction timer, fast 12-bit A/D converter, CAN interface, and high-speed serial interface. ($87 ea/sample — available 1st qtr.)
