Additions to the 32-bit PIC32MX5/6/7 microcontroller families provide Ethernet, CAN, USB 2.0 OTG, and serial connectivity with cost-effective memory options and power consumption of just 500-µA/MHz active current. The chips also features higher 20-k read/write cycle flash memory endurance and better EEPROM emulation capability.
Yielding 1.56 DMIPS/MHz using a MIPS32 M4K core, the MCUs have 64 or 140 Kbytes of flash, up to 32 Kbytes of RAM, five capture/compare/PWM peripherals, and are available in 100-pin TQFP 12 x 12-mm, TQFP 14 x 14-mm, and BGA, and 64-pin TQFP and QFN packages. Two starter kits are available for $55 and $72 each. ($3.71 to $4.93 ea/10,000 — available now.)
