32-bit MCUs feature CAN transceiver

The LPC11C22 and LPC11C24 50-MHz Cortex-M0-based MCUs feature what is said to be the industry’s first integrated CAN physical-layer transceiver. The chips’ CAN 2B transceiver has a low-power off mode (5 μA max), 58-V max common-mode voltage, and ±8-kV per IEC61000-4-2 ESD handling capability.

The devices come in a LQFP48 package, operate from 1.8 to 3.6 V, and have CAN and CANopen drivers in ROM. The ICs provide 16 or 32 Kbytes of flash, 32 vectored interrupts, a UART, two SPI and I2 C interfaces, a 12-MHz 1% accuracy RC oscillator, and a 10-bit A/D converter. (LPC11C22, $1.98 ea/10,000 — available now.)
