32-bit processor manages security apps

The 32-bit Zatara application-specific standard product targets secure-transactions processing with an ARM9 core and a security subsystem. Security features include a battery-backed security island, a secure boot ROM, a NIST 800-22-compliant random-number generator, and a FIPS-140-2-compliant SHA-1 hash generator.

The device has 64 Kbytes of SRAM, 4 Kbytes of secure SRAM with fast zero, a monochrome LCD controller, a magnetic card reader, smart-card controllers, a modem, and DMA, SDRAM, and interrupt controllers. ($10 ea/large qty—contact company for availability.)
