32-bit processors target automotive

The XC2365 and XC2387 80 MIPS 32-bit MPUs target automotive airbag and power-steering applications. The chips have a USIC (Universal Serial Interface Channel), a LIN port, buffered SPI, IIC (Inter-IC) bus, or IIS (Inter-IC-Sound) interfaces, plus MultiCAN which provides up to 64 message objects on up to three CAN nodes.

The chips come in LQFP-100 or -144 packages, consume less that 60 ma at full speed, and feature dual 1.2 µs A/D converters with special safety features. They have 384 to 576 kbytes of flash, run at 66 or 80 MHz, and -40° to 85° C or -40° to 125° C. (From $6.95 ea/20,000—samples available now.)
