The Se 4 Tbyte 3.5-inch hard disk drive (WD4000F9YZ) is built on an enterprise-grade platform for reliable 24 x 7 x 365 datacenter operation. The drive features Enhanced Rotary Acceleration Feed Forward technology that includes sophisticated electronics to monitor the drive and correct both linear and rotational vibration in real-time, dual processors for maximum performance, dual actuator technology that improves head positional accuracy over data tracks, and a motor shaft that is secured at both ends to reduce vibration.
The 7200 RPM drive uses a SATA 6 Gbit/s interface and has a multi-axis shock sensor that detects the subtlest shock events and compensates to protect the data.
