The 4336TA transimpedance amplifier (TIA) is suited for next-generation small-form-factor 40-Gbit/s very-short-reach transponder modules suited for SONET/SDH as well as for future 40-Gbit Serial Ethernet applications. The device is a high-gain TIA that enables transponders to achieve high-sensitivity and high-overload performance over a wide range of temperatures and supply voltages.
The TIA provides 3.5 kΩ of differential gain and differential output amplitude of 520 mVp-p, eliminating the need for a separate post amp and other integrated circuits. It operates off a single 3.3-V power supply and is available in die form. It also offers a power consumption of 430 mW typ and optical overload of greater than 6 dBm.
