45 KVA step-up power distribution system converts 208Y to 480 Vac

The MPD-45KVA-208Y-4X120-1X480-50AW is a temporary power distribution system that converts 208Y Vac to 480-V three phase electrical current. This system provides operators the ability to safely tap into common 208Y and distribute 480 Vac to the equipment. A 150-A main breaker protects the primary 120/208Y panel and the step up transformer. A separate disconnect on the 480-V secondary side enables the operator to kill power to the 480-V line out whip, while keeping the 120/208Y panel and related 120-V receptacles active. This configuration provides the operator with four 120 volt GFCI receptacles and one 10-ft whip, rated for 50-A 480-V service.

Unlike many portable power distribution boxes made of plastic and using thin gauge metals in their construction, this unit is constructed to withstand demanding conditions and heavy duty industrial applications. The transformer and load assembly is mounted on a 3/16-in. carbon steel mounting platform and the load center/distribution assembly is mounted to the standard 2 x 2-in. by 1/8-in. square carbon steel tubing frame. This cube style configuration is easy to move around the site and can be loaded easily on a truck or other conveyance with the distinctively placed pick eye on the center of the transformer or by the built in skid pockets.
