45-V 100-mA LDO limits noise to 30 µVrms

The LT3050 LDO voltage linear regulator delivers up to 100-mA output current with a low-dropout voltage of 340 mV at full load. It features a 2 to 45-V input voltage range, delivering adjustable output voltages from 0.6 to 44.5 V and provides programmable 30-µVrmsnoise operation across a 10-Hz to 100-kHz bandwidth.

The LDO provides several diagnostic and safety functions including a single resistor at the IMAX pin that programs current limit, accurate to ±5%, over the full input voltage and temperature range. Also, a single resistor at the IMIN pin programs a minimum output current detector, useful for identifying open-circuit conditions.

Furthermore, a current monitor function sources current equal to 1/100th of output current, allowing the user to measure output current or calculate the device’s power dissipation. The LDO also has a reference soft-start functionality that prevents output voltage overshoot at turn-on.

The output voltage tolerance is accurate at ±2% over line, load, and temperature. It operates with a 2.2-µF ceramic output capacitor, optimizing stability and transient response. (From $1.55 ea/1,000 — available now.)
