486DX-based SBC drives 64,000 colors on TFT LCDs

Board uses local bus to speed GUI applications

Designed to accelerate graphical user interfaces (GUIs) in embedded
applications, the 486DX-based SBC-486DX single-board computer runs at up
to 66 MHz and uses a local-bus video controller to drive 1,024 x 768
pixels at 256 colors on a TFT LCD. A flat-panel display and a CRT can be
driven simultaneously. On-board memory comprises up to 32 Mbytes of
dynamic RAM with up to 256 Kbytes of cache. Three sockets support
512-Kbyte EPROMs, 512-Kbyte static RAMs, and 256-Kbyte flash ROMs. Other
additions include a floppy- and hard-disk controller, watchdog timer and
real-time clock, speaker and keyboard interfaces, two serial ports and one
parallel port, and a buffered UART option. The 5.75 x 7.75-in. board has
an ISA and SBX connector, draws 8 W (33 MHz 486DX), and has an operating
temperature range of 0 degrees to 70 degreesC. ($1,551 ea/100–stock to 30
days.) Computer Dynamics, Greer, SC Sales Dept. 803-877-8700 Fax
