The tool provides a complete solution for writing code as well as operating and testing the application in the field and has all the hardware and software needed to program the 16-bit MCU and a low-power RF 2.4-GHz transceiver. The low-power MCU includes a 12-channel 10-bit A/D converter, two op amps, and support for UART, SPI, I2C, and IrDA communications.

The CC2500 multichannel RF transceiver has an automated packet engine and supports data rates from 1.2 to 500 kbits/s. The USB stick interface plugs into a PC port with no additional driver software, and then connects directly to an MCU-RF target board. The target board also includes two programmable LEDs, a programmable toggle button, and a zero-power brownout detector. ($49available now.)
