Designed for electronic toll collection applications, including on board units and road side units, the ML5830 transmitter complies with China’s electronic toll collection (ETC) standard. This ASK and FSK part operates in the 5.8-GHz ISM band and use the company’s FastWave microcontroller technology to eliminate tuning in self-calibrationg VCO and filters.
Features include less than 36 mA of current consumption, a fractional-N synthesizer with 30-Hz resolution, and an integrated power regulation enabling 2.7 to 3.6-V operation. Housed in a 40-pin QFN package, the transmitter integrates an upconversion mixer, a buffer/predriver amplifier and an ASK modulator that can produce a typical output power of 4 dBm.
