5 Crazy stories about people and their Tesla vehicles

It seems like every time we turn around, Tesla Motors is in the news. Aside from your run-of-the-mill new-car releases or new charging stations, sometimes we catch some news stories about Tesla cars that are really “out there”. Here are five interesting stories about people and their Teslas.

1. Naked on his Tesla

This week, a Los Angeles man stopped his Tesla car on the Pacific Coast Highway in California and stood on the roof of his Tesla vehicle naked. Firefighters attempted to coax the man down from the car, but he was too busy stretching and flapping his arms like a bird while throwing his clothing in the air.

Of course, thanks to easily-accessible camera technology, a bystander recorded some of the ruckus. Unfortunately, since the man is in the nude, it’s pretty NSFW, so here’s the link if you want to check out the owner of this Tesla vehicle.

2. This guy’s Tesla burst into flames

Perhaps you remember the Tesla vehicle from October that went up in flames.

Fortunately, the owner of the car was not injured. According to a representative from Tesla, a large metallic object hit one of the battery pack’s modules which prompted the fire.
The fire department ripped up the front end of the car to put holes in the battery pack, at which time they poured water into the battery and the blaze was finally extinguished and nobody was injured.

3. This man with 7 Teslas

In order to defend Tesla from recent accusations that its vehicles are unreliable in cold weather, Tesla Motor CEO Elon Musk posted a story on the Tesla Motor website about the man with the most Tesla vehicles in the world.

This man, Jens Kratholm, also happens to live in Sweden inside the Arctic Circle where it’s pretty cold. Kratholm owns six Roadsters and a Model S. He even lets strangers test-drive the vehicles and borrow them while he’s away.

4.  These nine people are the first in China to own a Tesla

Tesla Motors delivered its first set of electric sedans to customers in China this week, and Elon Musk said the company will build a nationwide network of charging stations and service centers as fast as it can. According to the Los Angeles Times, the recipients of these nine Model S cars included Cao Guowei, CEO of Internet company Sina, and Yu Yongfu, chief executive of the mobile Internet browser company UCWeb.

Here’s a recent story on the streets: Elon Musk was making an appearance in actor Johnny Depp’s new movie “Transcendence” and wanted to show off what the Tesla could do, so Depp and two other actors crammed into the car with Musk and they raced around in the Tesla while happening to blow a stop sign. The group got pulled over and was left with just a warning from the police. (Story via Today )
