5-W converters are first to have 4,000-Vac I/O isolation

The AMEL5-MAZ series of switching power supplies offers universal inputs of 90 to 260 Vac at 47 to 440 Hz or 120 to 370 Vdc in a PCB-mountable, encapsulated package measuring 51.5 x 26.1 x 15.8 mm. It offers 4,000-Vac I/O isolation within an industrial operating temperature range of –40° to 80°C.

The isolated single- and dual-output extends from 3.3 to 24 Vdc, with ripple and noise as low as 50 mVp-p with line and load regulation of ±0.5%. The converters are well suited for industrial control devices, test and measurement equipment, telecommunications applications, and consumer electronics products.

The no-load power consumption is 0.3 W, with efficiency rates up to 75%, and meets or exceed the requirements for Energy Star EPS v2.0. With safety approvals cULus and CB and CE marks, the series meets the safety standards of EN60601-1-2, EN55011 Class B, IEC/EN 61000-3-2, -3-2, and IEC 61000-4-2, -4-1, -4-5, -4-6, -4-8, -4-11, for integration in controlled, non-life-support medical and dental devices, instruments, and equipment applications.
