500-W supply targets next-gen medical devices

The MINT1500 ac/dc power targets next-generation medical devices and industrial test equipment. The power supply offers a flexible horizontal or vertical configuration in a compact 3.3 X 7 X 1.5-in. package that fits into a 1U or 2U chassis. It feature a universal ac-input from 90 to 270 Vac and a dc-output range from 24 to 56 V and provides 350 W for convection cooling, or 500 W with moving air. The new models are approved to AAMI ES/CSA C22.2/EN/IEC60601-1, third edition with 2x Means of Patient Protection (MOPP) isolation. Input and output monitoring alarms plus 12 V/0.8 A fan output and 5-V standby are standard.

The ac and dc connections are placed on opposite sides of the power supply to better meet the needs of medical and industrial applications. It features an efficiency rating of 93%, and reduces costs through a forced current share that provides a higher power architecture, eliminating the need for an external circuit. The supply operates from -10° to 70°C and all models are protected against short circuit, overload, and over-temperature conditions.
